Description

When a pilgrim begins their journey of Umrah or Hajj, the very first step is to enter into a special spiritual state known as Ihram. This sacred state is not just about wearing specific garments but also about adopting a mindset of purity, humility, and devotion. Ihram symbolizes equality before Allah and reminds every pilgrim that they stand united, regardless of status, wealth, or nationality.

  • For Men: Two simple white, unstitched cloths. One is wrapped around the waist (izar), and the other draped over the shoulders (rida).

  • For Women: Ordinary modest dress that fulfills Islamic requirements, usually loose and covering, without adornment. Women do not wear a face veil (niqab) or gloves during Ihram.
