Performing Hajj is a dream for every Muslim, and the Government of India facilitates the process through the Hajj Committee of India (HCoI). Each year, thousands of Indian pilgrims are selected through an online application and quota system. If you are planning to apply for Hajj, here is a clear step-by-step guide.

Check Eligibility

Before applying, make sure you meet the requirements: You must be a Muslim citizen of India.
Your age should generally be between 18 and 70 years (special rules may apply for certain cases).
You should have a valid passport (valid at least until January of the following year).
Pregnant women, individuals with serious illnesses, and children below 18 are usually not eligible.

Visit the Official Hajj Portal

Go to the official Hajj Committee of India website: www.hajcommittee.gov.in

Fill the Online Application Form

Provide personal details such as name, address, date of birth, Aadhaar number, and passport details.

Upload required documents (passport copy, passport-size photograph, medical fitness certificate, etc.).

Select your preferred Embarkation Point (nearest airport approved for Hajj departures).

Choose Package Type

Government Hajj Quota: (arranged by Hajj Committee of India, more affordable).
Private Tour Operators (PTOs) (approved by Ministry of Minority Affairs, with additional facilities).

Submit and Pay Application Fees

Review your details carefully before submission.
Pay the non-refundable application fee online or through designated banks.
After successful payment, download and save the acknowledgment slip.

Wait for the Draw of Lots (Qurrah)

Due to limited quotas, applicants are selected through a computerized lottery system.
If your name is selected, you will be notified via SMS, email, and the official portal.

Make Final Payment & Training

Selected pilgrims must pay the remaining Hajj package amount within the given time.
Attend orientation and training sessions conducted by the Hajj Committee to learn about rituals, health, and travel guidelines.

Departure for Hajj

Once all payments and documents are verified, you will receive your travel schedule, flight details, and accommodation information.

Pilgrims depart from their chosen embarkation points to Saudi Arabia.

Documents Required for Hajj Application

Indian Passport

Valid Indian Passport (with minimum 1 year validity)

Passport-size Photograph

Recent passport size photograph with plain background and clear visibility

Aadhaar Card

Submit a clear copy of your valid Aadhaar card for identity verification purposes.

Medical Fitness Certificate

Provide a certified medical fitness certificate confirming your physical health eligibility.

Bank Account Details:

Share accurate bank account details for official records and transaction purposes.

Application Fee Receipt

Attach the application fee receipt as proof of successful payment completion.
